Nicki Minaj is clarifying her comments from earlier this year about retiring from music.

“I’ve decided to retire & have my family,” she wrote on Twitter in September. “I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, (X) in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”

On Thursday, in an interview with Billboard, the rapper, 37, backtracks a bit on the finality of her future plans.

“I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life,” she said. “I do believe it is important to become a woman outside of the magnifying glass. I have to make sure that I’m well-rounded as a human being.”

When Minaj first announced her plans to step away from music, it left fans reeling on Twitter.

“Like yea it might be a bit dramatic but a lot of barbz are really shaken by this,” a user wrote. “I just need her to talk to us about it or something”

“I will babe. I promise,” Minaj responded. “I love you so much”

Another fan requested she “please just address this retirement thing…We’re just hurting Nicki”

The rap diva’s update on her possible future music career comes about two months after she married boyfriend Kenneth Petty following nearly a year of dating.

She shared her martial bliss with a video on Instagram of matching “Mr. and Mrs.” mugs and coordinating “Bride” and “Groom” baseball caps.

“10•21•19,” the rapper captioned the footage, appearing to refer to the lovebirds’ official wedding date.
