Miranda Lambert’s eagerly awaited seventh studio album now has a name and release date.
“Wildcard” will hit stores Nov. 1 via her imprint, Vanner Records and RCA Records Nashville. The bold and broad collection will include lead single “It All Comes Out In the Wash,” recently released tracks “Locomotive” and “Mess With My Head,” plus the assured strummer “Bluebird,” which hit digital outlets Thursday.
“Wildcard” arrives at the end of a momentous year for Lambert, 35. In February, she shocked fans with her announcement that she’d married “the love of (her) life,” New York City police officer Brendan Mcloughlin.
“I’m happy and I’m healthy, and I’m ready to kick ass again,” Lambert told The Tennessean earlier this year.
“I feel like I’m taking some risks and not being afraid. I’m going into fearless mode musically and heart-wise. I feel like they go hand-in-hand. I’m jumping out there and taking risks, and I feel good about it.”
Ahead of “Wildcard’s” release, Lambert will kick off the Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour in September. The two month jaunt will feature a total of six supporting acts, all of them female: Maren Morris, Elle King, Tenille Townes, Ashley McBryde, Caylee Hammack and Lambert’s trio Pistol Annies.
“I think it’s going to be one of the best tours we’ve ever done,” Lambert said. “We have three new women, and I feel like we can all learn from each other. The younger ones have such fire in their eyes, and they’re so hungry and that’s good for me to see every day. And hopefully, I can teach them something about being a vet out here.”
