“Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson hit the Sundance Film Festival with his first big movie role in “Big Time Adolescence.” (Jan. 29)
Pete Davidson may no longer be with Ariana Grande but the comedian still isn’t allowing his fans to disrespect her late boyfriend Mac Miller.
On Tuesday, TMZ shared an audio clip from the ‘Saturday Night Live’ star performance at New Jersey’s South Orange Performing Arts Center the previous evening. The incident was first reported by Page Six.
The trouble began when the “Saturday Night Live” cast member set up a joke, saying, “My friend died in my apartment.”That prompted an audience member to shout back, “Mac Miller?”
Davidson stopped his routine and asked, “Who’s that guy? We’re getting him out.” He then threatened to leave the venue if the heckler wasn’t removed.
“I will not continue until that kid is gone, find him,” the comic demanded. “Give him his money back and get him the (expletive) out. I don’t deal with that (expletive) at my shows.”
The heckler was eventually removed.
Davidson, 25, became engaged to Miller’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande in May after they met on “Saturday Night Live” and began dating.
Like Davidson, Grande has also reacted strongly to trolls making jokes about Miller, like one Twitter user’s comment in Nov. 2018 that she was “milking” Miller’s death.
“i pray you never have to deal with anything like this ever and i’m sending you peace and love,” Grande replied.
