After five years, Sky Ferreira fans finally have an answer to when the 26-year-old singer-songwriter and model would actually be releasing her long-delayed new music.

Ferreira returned this week with “Downhill Lullaby,” five minutes of hazy, slow-burning pop from her forthcoming album “Masochism,” marking the first time she’s shared new music since her 2013 release “Night Time, My Time.”

Ferreira has been vocal about her struggles with her new music, from feuding with her record label to claiming that she delayed her album because she “refuses to put out something that isn’t honest.”

As for “Downhill Lullaby,” Ferreira described it on Twitter as a deviation from what fans can expect from the rest of the album.

“The first song isn’t a pop song…because I really want to make a video for it (& I love it),” she wrote. “I’m confident about all of the pop songs on my record so I decided to start with something different.”
